Hey everyone, the 4th annual Cruisin’ Southern Style car show is right around the corner. This year’s show will once again benefit the Louisiana State Trooper’s, Troop E, “I Wish” program. Our club, with the support of the Paragon Casino Resort and all of you Hot-Rodders, was able to donate $4000.00 to Trooper Scott Coco to help make a child’s wish come true.

The attached flyer is for all of you who would like to get an early registration in. Please check back here often as we’ll be updating the site with events and information for all of you who are attending.

2009 Cruisin’ Southern Style at the Paragon

It’s that time of year again! The 3rd Annual Cruisin’ Southern Style at the Paragon car show is November 14th at the Paragon Casino & Resort in Marksville, La. We’ll have early checkin from 3 – 5PM on Friday 13th, 2009 at the entrance near the parking garage.

Pre-registration for the show is $30.00. Registration the weekend of the show will be $35.00. This year’s proceeds will go to the Louisiana State Troopers’ “I Wish” foundation.

Rooms are available for those of you showing your vehicle. Call the Paragon Casino & Resort at 1-800-946-1946 and provide the booking code CRUN12G for the $99 room rate.

There is something going on at the Casino for everyone this weekend!

Saturday, November 14, 2009
9AM – 4PM: Car Show
10AM – 5PM: Christmas Extravaganza in the Mari Showroom
11AM – 1PM: BBQ Cookoff and BBQ plates being sold
7PM – 10PM: Awards and Dance with The Dots!

There will be a swap meet for anyone interested in selling some car parts. There will be a $10.00 registration fee for those interested in selling at the swap meet with this fee going to the “I Wish” foundation!

1966 Pontiac Acadian Canso Sport Deluxe – For Sale

Are you interested in owning a fairly unique classic car? Do you dream of driving around in one of the cleanest cruisers ever, with heads turning to follow you as you drive by? Well, look no further!

Mr. Robbie Long has his 1966 Pontiac Acadian Canso Sport Deluxe for sale. The Acadian was built by Chevrolet for Pontiac of Canada. The body and styling of this car matches the Chevy II Nova of the same time periods.

Only 552 Sport Deluxe cars were produced in 1966. Only 321 of these hardtops had the v8 options. This car has a very tricked out 283 powering a 2-Speed Powerglide.� Check out the pictures by clicking the gallery below.

Club BBQ – June 20th

Update 7/6/2010 – Man, this page gets a lot of views. I didn’t realize so many people searched for BBQ!!!

This month�s club meeting will be combined with a club BBQ at Johnny Perry�s home/camp on June 20th. We�ll take this time to discuss the Cruisin� Southern Style at the Paragon show coming up in November.

We ask that each club member bring a dish, desert and/or drink, while the club will provide the chicken, sausage, and boudin.The cooking will start at 3:00 with dinner being served at 7:00.

We look forward to seeing everyone there.

April Club Meeting

This month’s club meeting will be held April 21st at Rocky’s Tails and Shells in Bunkie, La. Try to make it around 6:00 PM. We’ll be well into crawfish season by then so be ready to shell a few tail!!!� Anyone interested in joining the club should attend. I’ll have club shirts available if you let me know in advance.

Agenda:� Upcoming shows, Alexandria Cruise-In at Sonic near the mall, and Club Cruises in the Country.

Triple Throw Down at the Paragon – Classic Car Show

The 2009 TBIPAC Triple Throw Down will be held March 28th and 29th at the Paragon Casino & Resort in Marksville, La. The Southern Style Cruisers are sponsoring the classic car show that’s to be held on the 28th in the parking lot of the casino. Other activities include a BBQ cookoff, pool tournament in the Mari Center, and the display of automotive hoods painted in tribal schemes by builders around the South.

Make sure you show up because one of the attendees of the carshow, BBQ cookoff, pool tournament, or paint display will walk away with $5000 in cold, hard cash!!!� Another two attendees will leave with very nice BBQ pits.
