UPDATE, PLEASE READ:  Hey everyone. We’ve finally got some details out for this year’s Cruisin’ Southern Style Car Show at the Paragon Casino and Resort. This year’s show will be held November 8th & 9th at the Paragon Casino & Resort in Marksville, La. We’ve had to move the show to Saturday and Sunday because of the “sure to be sold-out” KC & The Sunshine Band concert Friday night. The casino needs all the parking for concert goers.

Onsite registration will begin on Friday November 7, 2008 at the Casino entrance near the parking garage.  Parking for the show will not be available until Saturday morning. Because of the necessary changes, we’ll be posting an update to the judging schedule this week. I will also be posting a full show schedule ASAP.

We really hope to have a burnout competition again this year. Our plans are to open the competition to all participants and to limit everyone to the best they can do in twenty seconds. You don’t have to blow your tires to win (but it does help!!) :) There will be ten judges chosen that will rate the burnout on a scale of 1 – 10. We invite you to make a show of it, but definitely want to make sure that everyone is kept safe and that no-one does un-necessary damage to their car. This year’s winner will get a cash card.

We’re working with the casino to choose a charity for this year’s show. Last year, we were able to raise $1,500 for the Children’s Miracle Network. We hope to double this number for this year. I have donated a brand new Dell computer and monitor that will be raffled off. We’ll be selling 200 tickets for $5.00 each beginning Saturday morning. Tickets will be available at the DJ booth and with members of the car show staff.

The casino has set aside a block of rooms for car show participants. Pricing and instructions are below.Car9_1

Thurs: $49 upgrade to Atrium rooms: $99
Fri : $89 upgrade to Atrium rooms $129
Sat: $130 upgrade to Atrium rooms: $179
Sun: $49 upgrade to Atrium rooms: $99

When calling to reserve a room, make sure that you mention it is the Crusin’ at Paragon Southern Style Car Show and give the room block # SSCN07G.  You must mention this name block & number to get these prices.  You can choose what type of room you want. I highly recommend the Atrium rooms. The new Atrium has a movie theatre and an ice bar that’s awesome.

I’ve attached the room reservation sheet that you need to fill out and fax back to the casino. I’ve also attached a show flyer. The registration sheet will be posted very soon.

Finally, I’m working on a site dedicated to the show. The address is www.cruisinsouthernstyle.com and should be up shortly. Also, make sure you check out all that the Paragon has to offer at www.paragoncasinoresort.com.

Call me if you have any questions: Joe @ 318-715-6017. We look forward to seeing you there!!!!

Updates:

1) KC and the Sunshine Band will be performing Friday night November 7th. Be sure to go to the Casino’s website at www.paragoncasinoresort.com and reserve your tickets!!!

2) Because of the concert going on, we’ve had to push back the show until Saturday and Sunday. This may be better for many of the attendees. We would love to have everyone come down Friday and hang out. But, we will not have the area blocked off for our vehicles Friday as planned.
